It’s not a secret that this website’s has been lacking updates, and due to the fact that Mesut has changed clubs and are now playing for Arsenal, thissite needs a serious makeover :D

There for this website needs a hiatusbreak so we can come back with style!!

At the same time, we’re on the lookout for one or two fantastic little helpers!!

What we’re looking for is someone who are:

- A big fan of Mesut

- Can update on a regular basis

- Are watching Arsenals games

- Can write in understandable english

- Wants to spend some freetime updating news of Mesut for their fellow Özilfans :D

Mesut Özil to be inducted to Madame Tussauds.

German-Turk footballer Mesut Özil will be inducted to the Madame Tussauds museum with a lifetime wax sculpture.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who plays for Spanish giants Real Madrid, announced the news on his Facebook page.

“Starting in June 2013, I will be able to visit myself. Because then “I” will be at Madame Tussauds’ wax museum in Berlin,” the player announced.

The sculpture of Özil, who was born and raised in Germany to a Turkish family, will be exhibited at the Berlin branch of the world-famous Madame Tussauds museum.

Özil was chosen after an online poll and will be the only active German international team player standing at Madame Tussauds.

“I am especially proud, therefore, that I was chosen by the fans,” said Özil, who added he “got ‘measured’ in Madrid” on Jan. 22.

Özil will join legendary players Franz Beckenbauer and Oliver Kahn as the German players in Madame Tussauds Berlin.

“I am curious about how I will look as a wax figure,” he added.

Özil registers complaint over racist tweets

Mesut Özil’s management has registered complaint against persons unknown for racist remarks on the Germany midfielder made through social network Twitter.

Özil’s advisor Roland Eitel on Tuesday said that the move is designed to deter others from similar action. Özil’s father said that he wants the person(s) to be identified.

Tweets in which Özil was the target of racist statements occurred during Germany’s last group game at Uefa Euro 2012™ against Denmark. The user tweeted that Özil was no real German and that the national team should only consist of players with German names.

Özil is of Turkish descent and was born in Germany.

News reports said the profile was started under the name @PiratenOnline. The name appeared to misuse the big internet presence of Germany’s Pirates Party, which said it had nothing to do with the tweets and distanced itself from them.

Twitter reportedly closed the account after some 3 000 tweets and protests from other users.

Özil: I am not at Zidane’s level yet.

The Germany international thinks that he still must improve a great deal to reach the same heights as the retired Frenchman.

Mesut Özil has played down comparisons between former Real Madrid star Zinedine Zidane and himself.

The Germany international, who signed for Los Blancos in 2010, has established himself as one of the hottest properties in Europe at the age of 23.

His playing style has earned comparisons with Zidane, who featured at the club between 2001 and 2006, but Özil reckons he still has a long way to go to reach the same level as the France legend.

“I never compare myself with him,” Özil told AS. “I am proud to be at such a big club like Madrid, but Zidane is at another level.

“He was a player with worldwide success. I am still missing that. I still have to prove myself.

“He was a complete player: he played with both feet, he had good technique, good heading and finishing.

“Zidane was an incredible player because he had amazing tricks. As a professional, I recognise that he did not only do things which were beautiful to watch, he was also very effective, a true hard-working player.”

Özil, who is currently away on international duty for Euro 2012, then admitted that he plays the same way for Madrid as he does with the national team.

“Before I have the ball, I think about where my team-mates will be, where I can cross the ball,” he added.

“When you are playing at Madrid or with Germany, it gets easy, because everyone is thinking with you.

“The positive thing for me is that Madrid and Germany play with the exact same system. I do not have to adapt. It is great.”

50 Most Marketable 2012 - Mesut Özil

Mesut Özil - German, 23, Soccer (47)

When it comes to marketability, Mesut Özil may not be in the same league as his Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo but, as a regular starter alongside the Portuguese, the 23-year-old playmaker is on the very same platform.

Referred to by some as the‘German Messi’, Özil is far more than mere provider to the many goal-scoring talents that grace the Bernabeu’s famous pitch week in, week out. His masterful vision and creativity have unlocked virtually every defence in La Liga this season, as well as many more in the Uefa Champions League, contributing to the growing feeling across Europe that, with him at the heart, this current team has the potential to emulate the success of Madrid teams of old.

Aside from his club exploits, in the coming years Özil is set to once again ply his trade on the international scene – as he did so successfully at the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa. When his youthful and widely tipped Germany side go to Poland and Ukraine this summer, and then Brazil in 2014, vying for the country’s fourth European and world crowns.

Given his mix of Turkish ancestry and German citizenship, not to mention a growing fan base in the Spanish capital, another set of virtuoso displays on the global stage will no doubt see sponsors scampering for a place alongside Nike, EA Sports and Volkswagen in the midfield maestro’s burgeoning portfolio.
